Farley Hope has a life most eighteen year olds would kill for—no mom hanging around to embarrass her in front of her friends, telling her who she can and can’t date; her own house, with no one to dictate what she should do and when. Ideal, right? It would be if her mom had simply jetted off to Cabo for the summer. Instead, she is missing, the disappeared off the face of the planet kind of missing, and the only boy showing up at Farley’s house isn’t trying to date her. He’s trying to save her life, and he’s none too happy about it. Immortal Reavers, ancient prophecies and soul-toting sidekicks abound, Farley’s mission to find her mother descends into chaos, plunging her into an unknown world where even the simplest of goals—Stay safe. Stay alive—seem impossible. Daniel and his friends stand between Farley and certain death, but will she allow him to help her? Will she allow him to risk her life in order to save it, and will she risk her heart to love him? Farley Hope Is Prophesied Her coming has been awaited for a hundred years. She is destined to end the tyranny of the Soul Reavers. To do so, she must die.

First, I'd like to commend the author's book trailer for this novel. It is 5 star awesome!! Second, I do love the cover. It's simple and elegant. It also portrays Farley as I see her. As for the book, I was excited when I saw it was $.99 on Amazon because the book blurb and cover had pulled me in, so I purchased it, but didn't have time to read it until this week. It was, for the most part, a book that I struggled to finish. The story line was interesting enough, but the 3rd person POV left huge gaps in events and was jarring at many points because it didn't flow for me. I respect any author who tries to write in 3rd person, but as a reader it really disengaged me from the characters. The characters of this book were well, a bit whiny--especially Farley. She just wouldn't shut up. At times her lengthy inner monologue made me feel as if the book was written in 1st person. The small amount of times that the book concentrated on Daniel were a reprieve for me. He was much less whiny, and his thoughts often had reason to them. Overall, no matter who the focus was on there was a lot of narration and description. It often distracted me from the action of the novel, and I found myself skimming over most of it. The style reminded me of how I felt when I read Lauren Kate's Fallen novels. I liked the story line enough that I would read the next book, but I could never finish the series because of it. The dialogue was well written, there just needed to be more of it.I never really got attached to the characters because as soon as the dialogue started to let me understand them I was thrown back into the narrative. It was a quick read for me, but then again, I did skim through a lot of the narrative and repetitive description. If someone were bent on killing me I wouldn't care about the shape or size of the room.

Sovereign Hope The Hope Series Frankie Rose 9781490393940 Books Reviews

This is one of those books that starts at a gallop and never slows down. You will be grabbed from the word go and will be left thoroughly shaken. A fantastic read.

The story was gripping and had enough twists and turns to keep you entertained and engaged. It was a very unique plot and I found myself wanting to find out more about The Immortals, The Quorum and the entire story behind the soul-stealing. The story is action-packed, never a dull moment. The writing flows effortlessly, beautifully descriptive, filled with both heartache and humor.

There is a great cast of characters to find in this book. Farley was very likable She's stubborn, sarcastic and knows how to speak her mind. She's also level-headed and very mature for her age. I instantly connected with her. Her best-friend Tess was really funny. I thought she was a great friend to Farley. Daniel I loved. He's a bad boy so obviously I would P I love guys with that sarcastic attitude, and brooding demeanor. The ones that have a hidden depth to them. And what is it with guys that can fix cars and ride motorcycles and have cool cars (I want a guy who has a dodge charger!). I couldn't get enough of Daniel and loved that we got some of the story from his POV. The romance part was very well done. It wasn't all lovey-dovey, insta-romance, soppy crap. It was well paced and was very mature and realistic. I loved watching their feelings for each other slowly develop.

The rest of the characters were also very interesting and contributed greatly to the story. I can't wait to find out more about Kayden but I really hope there won't be a love-triangle in the second book. Please don't let there be a love triangle!

So overall a very unique and intriguing story packed with action, humor, love and heartbreak. A must for lovers of paranormal YA.
First I would like to thank Frankie Rose writing such an incredible read! I finished the book and I was like what the heck, wait a minute I need more! Frankie has crafted a world like no other. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I had to put it down for a few hours and I was dying to get back to it. There are a lot of major players in this book so this review is going to be a little different because I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I want to give you a little background to who the major players are in the story.

Farley is just your average teen going to school and hanging out with her best friend Tess. She has these visions and nightmares that give her major migraines which she has to take medicine for. She lives with her mother and has a pretty normal life until her mother goes missing without a trace. Farley is desperate to find her mother and in the process finds out that her mother kept some secrets involving Farley and her father.

Then one day while Farley is searching for her mother she notices she is being followed. When she becomes trapped in traffic she realizes that she has to get away before the bad guys get her. Then she crashes into a car and curses under her breathe but the guy comes to the window and that is when Farley's normal life changes and she meets Daniel. Daniel tells Farley that she is safe and that she should go with him. Farley is skeptical of him at first but she learns that he may hold the answers to what happened to her mother.

Daniel introduces Farley to his family which is Agatha and Aldan. As things start to unravel Farley will have to figure who to trust and how to survive. She will learn some secrets that will either make her or break her and she will have to decide what she is going to. What do you do when everyone wants your soul? Do you give it away of do you keep it? Will she be able to trust Daniel? Who is this mysterious Oliver and Kayden? What role do they play in her quest to find her mother?

I could go on forever but I will not. I will say this this is a must read! I promise you will not be disappointed.
